Wisconsin blood donor wins SUV in ‘incredible’ Versiti contest

Blood donation is usually voluntary. But it got a Wisconsin donor a free car.

“We thought that right now cars were in such high demand and in short supply that this would be a great way to impact our donors and really show them our gratitude and appreciation,” said Gitech Dubal of Versiti. Blood Center of Wisconsin. .

The Versiti Blood Center of Wisconsin’s “Drive to Save Lives Sweepstakes” honors a blood donor on Wednesday, January 26 with a new SUV.

“We wanted to do something big, something special for our donors,” Dubal said.

The lucky winner is Judy Krepsky from West Bend. She’s been donating blood since she was in college. To date, it’s 115 times.

“When I found out that negative O was universal, I thought it was something I should stick with for as long as possible,” Krepsky said.

Krepsky got the keys to his new Honda HRV on Wednesday. While it was the luck of the draw, the O-negative dealer is the perfect match.

“For Judy to receive it for someone who is so committed to our cause, I think sometimes things work out really well,” Dubal said.

Krepsky hopes her long time as a donor will motivate Wisconsin residents to do the same – like every two seconds someone needs vital blood.
