Windows smashed in businesses in downtown Milwaukee

The windows of several businesses in downtown Milwaukee were smashed early Monday morning. It happened around 3:15 a.m. on West Wisconsin Avenue near North Plankinton Avenue. WISN 12 saw at least 10 damaged windows at TJ Maxx, Foot Locker, Subway, Walgreens and Milwaukee. Symphony Orchestra. “I’ve never dealt with this before, so I don’t know the process,” Subway manager Hardik Pandejee said. “I just came in like wow, nothing has ever happened like this so it was really surprising that something like this happened in our neighborhood.” He said he found a broken piece of concrete on the floor in the restaurant’s dining room. “I don’t know if he was frustrated with something or what happened, but it’s weird,” Pandejee said. “It’s just cleaning. It’s going to take a while to clean it. I guess I’ll probably have to call someone to clean it. I don’t know. I’ve never had to deal with that previously.” The crews embarked to open the windows and inspect the damage. Police say a 26-year-old man from Milwaukee has been arrested. His name has not been disclosed. Charges are expected to be filed in the coming days. No other details were disclosed.

He said he found a broken piece of concrete on the restaurant’s dining room floor.

Crews were mounting the windows and inspecting the damage.

Police say a 26-year-old man from Milwaukee has been arrested.

His name has not been disclosed.

Charges are expected to be filed in the coming days.
