When and where to watch Christmas movies in Milwaukee theaters

Another sign that things are returning to normal: Milwaukee cinemas are hitting the shelves with classic Christmas movies.

Not as much as before the COVID-19 pandemic, of course. Two regular attendees of the holiday films, the Rosebud and Times theaters of the Neighborhood Theater Group, have yet to reopen since the world closed in March 2020. But their sister theater, the Avalon in Bay View, continues the tradition.

Here’s where and when you can catch Christmas movies, recent and classic, on the big screen in December in Milwaukee.

Christmas films at the Rivoli Theater

The 2021 Rivoli Theater Holiday Film Festival pretty much looks like the 2020 Cedarburg Theater festival, but without the seat restrictions in place last winter. The community theater, W62-N567 Washington Ave., will be open throughout the Christmas season starting December 3. Admission is $ 4. Info: rivoliofcedarburg.com.
