Salmon from the Faroe Islands. Lamb shank. Grilled Hawaiian butterflyfish with ponzu butter.
You can get these starters, and many more, at a special price during Tosa Restaurant Week.
Twelve Wauwatosa restaurants are participating in the event, which will be held March 3-13.
“Our goal is to inspire visitors to come to Wauwatosa, support our local small businesses, restaurants and, of course, enjoy delicious menu options,” said Eva Ennamorato, city communications manager.
Restaurant Week will offer five dining options for customers dining at participating restaurants: $8 Sweet, $10 Breakfast, $15 Three-Course Lunch, $25 Three-Course Dinner and three-course dinner at $35.
Ennamorato said part of the motivation behind the event, which is hosted by Discover Wauwatosa, is to support businesses hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic.
The event will also highlight the variety of food options available in Wauwatosa.
“The week is also about highlighting the variety of cuisine options in our area – and there really are a lot of them – so we wanted a way to promote all of those options,” Ennamorato said.
This is the first Tosa Restaurant Week, but it will likely become an annual event, according to Ennamorato.
Plate Pleasures Eatery, 2330 N. 124th St., is one of the participating restaurants. Owner Mia Redmond focuses on home-cooked, southern, and soulful dishes. She does everything from scratch.
Redmond opened the restaurant in August 2020, just months after the pandemic began.
She hopes her participation in the event will help her connect with the community.
“I believe in supporting my community and I hope the community will continue to support our business,” Redmond said.
