MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – A man claiming to have a gun successfully committed two robberies on the west side of Milwaukee in 20 minutes.
Detectives need your help to find the suspect.
Take a look at this image. This was from the day these thefts occurred on the morning of November 2.
In both cases, the suspect gave the registry clerk a note — demanding money from the registry.
The thefts took place at two locations on the same day.
One was at McDonald’s on Silver Spring, the other on Hampton Avenue.
Then, on the second robbery, the suspect took some cash from the ledger and fled on foot.
No one was injured in either case, although the suspect said he had a gun in his pocket.
But detectives say these cases are significant because they are only getting worse over time.
“Both restaurants were hit relatively close together in a time frame and in close proximity. Many previous investigations like this will result in a frenzy,” said MPD Detective Tony Castro. “Attempted robbery, armed robbery turns into armed robbery which turns into shootings, then escalates into robbery, into homicide – suspects like this, they start small with these types of crimes that I don’t like to say small but easy to commit crimes all the way to non-lethal shots and deadly shots it’s better to stop this stuff in its infancy than let it fester and to continue until it escalates into injury.
