HUNDREDS of NBA fans were seen fleeing the scene after reports of shots being fired in the Deer district of Milwaukee after the Bucks-Celtics game ended.
A man was shot dead while the fans were leaving the arena. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to Milwaukee police.
A second person was also reportedly shot dead. Milwaukee police told TMJ4 News a suspect is in custody.
First responders are on scene and road closures are in effect.
The shooting reportedly took place near Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Highland Avenue.
Reports from the scene indicate that the shooting took place around 9:30 p.m., just after the match ended.
WISN12 News reports that fans leaving the arena ran back for safety.
Deer District is home to a number of restaurants and shops near the Fiserv Forum, where the Bucks play.
A watch party was going on in the neighborhood during the game, with fans lining the streets.
The Bucks reportedly set a capacity limit of 11,000 fans for the watch party.
The Bucks lost to the Boston Celtics by a score of 108-95.
The conference semifinal series is tied at three games apiece. A decisive seventh game for the series will be played on Sunday afternoon.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
