MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – High pressure boosts across southern Wisconsin today – keeping the sun around and highs in the 70s! Comfortable weather lasts into early Saturday as lows drop into the upper 50s. Some places could dive a bit cooler – in particular. further north of Madison. Southerly winds will begin to bring warmer air as the high pressure moves eastward. Highs will climb into the 80s on Saturday and rise a few more degrees on Sunday – towards the mid 80s.

A short wave is expected to cross the Midwest late Sunday evening and early Monday. On the surface, the low will track through northern Wisconsin. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected early Monday. However, dry average levels will be a limiting factor on this chance of rain. Rain is clearing the area on Monday afternoon and more sunshine is expected through Tuesday.

Dew points will be in the upper 60s during this time. Steady southwest winds will bring temperatures into the 90s by Wednesday/Thursday. Heat index values ​​can exceed 100°.
