Nolan Winter sets date for official visit to Wisconsin

According to a report by Evan Flood of 247Sports, three-star forward Nolan Winter will make an official visit to Wisconsin beginning August 3.

According to 247Sports, Winter is the 44th PF in the nation and Minnesota’s No. 2 player.

The 6-foot-11, 190-pound forward currently has offers from Wisconsin, Minnesota, Stanford, Xavier, Oregon State, St. Thomas and Wake Forest.

“Wisconsin staff see me in a stretch four type role, and they often compare me to Jon Leuer back then. Someone who can shoot from the outside, get into the paint and use my height to my advantage in many ways,” Winter said.

Along with strong academics, the Lakeville, MN native is looking for a competitive program with an established culture, a winning tradition and a great relationship with the coaching staff.

It’s easy to see Winter’s potential in a program like UW, given their success using big upside men with similar skill sets.

The three-star forward has previously made official visits to Oregon State and Stanford.
