Milwaukee Duo SistaStrings will perform on ‘Jimmy Kimmel’ tonight

SistaStrings will accompany Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Allison Russell during her performance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” this evening.

Monique and Chauntee Ross have been making music together since they were kids on the North Side of Milwaukee. With Chauntee on fiddle and Monique on cello, the duo debuted as SistaStrings at Riverwest FemFest 2014 and have since continued to perform extensively.

They have worked with other Milwaukee musicians, such as Klassik, and perform classic strings, covers and mixes of popular contemporary pop songs, as well as their own original music. They release their first EP, Elevator, in 2019. Two years later, they released “The Sound,” a song inspired by their experience marching during the 2020 Milwaukee protests. The duo moved to Nashville last year.

The sisters posted behind-the-scenes photos of their upcoming Kimmel performance on their Instagram, linked here. To find out more, you can read this 2016 profile we made of them.

The show will air at 10:35 p.m. tonight on ABC.
