MILWAUKEE (AP) – Max Fried pitched six clean innings and the Atlanta relievers’ box held on after manager Brian Snitker’s quick hook, sending the Braves to the Milwaukee Brewers 3-0 to tie their streak. NL division one game each. The Brewers tied home at each of the last three innings, but failed to get a hit. Austin Riley hit a homerun and Ozzie Albies netted a brace for the Braves, who rebounded after losing 2-1 in Game 1. The best-of-five series travel to Atlanta for Game 3 on Monday. Fried struck out nine hits, gave three hits, and didn’t walk anyone.

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) – Chez Mellusi ran for 145 yards and a touchdown and Wisconsin beat Illinois 24-0. Braelon Allen ran for 131 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries and John Chenal carried nine times for 38 yards and a touchdown for the Badgers. Wisconsin quarterback Graham Mertz had 10 of 19 passes for 100 yards with an interception. Wisconsin edged Illinois 491 to 93 yards in total offense.

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) – The Green Bay Packers have put star cornerback Jaire Alexander on the injured list. The move means Alexander must miss at least the next three games. Alexander injured a shoulder in a 27-17 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Coach Matt LaFleur said he was hopeful Alexander would avoid the surgery and could “be back with us in a few weeks.” Alexander made the Pro Bowl and won second-team honors in the All-Pro poll last season. The Packers visit Cincinnati on Sunday in a 3-1 scorecard.
