Cleveland, Ohio- Cleveland State’s men’s tennis team will kick off the fall 2022 campaign this weekend, with the junior duo of Mikael Erler and Maxime Mareschal-Hay competing at the Milwaukee Tennis Classic. The action at the MTC will run from Friday, September 16 through Sunday, September 18.

Erler and Mareschal-Hay were selected for the Milwaukee Tennis Classic champ based on last season’s results and the Universal Tennis Rankings, and will compete in the 32-man singles draw and the 16-man doubles draw. teams.
This is the third time Cleveland State has been represented at the MTC, and the second straight year Mareschal-Hay has made an appearance.
Last season, Mareschal-Hay and Erler were both named to the All-Horizon League first team, having spent the majority of the spring season playing No. 1 and No. 2 in singles respectively.
Mareschal-Hay ended his second campaign with an 18-16 singles record, while Erler posted a 17-12 singles record during the 2021-22 season. The duo also teamed up on the doubles court, going 6-2 in the spring season, including a 4-1 mark against Horizon League opponents.
Erler and Mareschal-Hay join four letter winners and six newcomers for the 2022-23 campaign, with the group led by head coach Brian Etzkin entering his 21st season with the Vikings.
